fill in the blank friday

i got this idea from one of my favorite blogs, the little things we do. if you want, you can copy the questions and fill in your own blanks!

1.   If I could get away somewhere for the weekend I would go    to Israel again, to visit Jerusalem and spend more time in the culture and I would bring   all my cameras and  alot of film.

2.  Something I often rant about is    bad drivers, drives me insane  .

3.  One item I need to have in my fridge at all time is     orange juice.

4.  My "life-saving" product is   paul mitchell awapuhi moisture mist--saves me from horrible horrible tangles/dreds .

5.  A friend is someone who     can be silly with you and encourage you and always be there for you and can call you out on your crap while still being loving.

6.  If I could write my own blank it would be       if you had to pick one country to live in for a year, which would it be and why?

7.  My favorite kind of art is      i really just like art that people i know have created, it makes it a lot more special. but in general, i really like photography and poetry and music. i like it all!

pretty things thursday.

i've decided to do 2 weekly things, maybe i will do more later but as of now it is this: pretty things thursday and fill in the blank friday.

happy birthday stephie!

stephanie marie waite is one of my very best best friends. we've been besties since 2008 when we did this Bible program in the beautiful mountains. she is the kindest person i know, hands down. she cares so much about other people & is unbelievably thoughtful, especially in little tiny details. she is also hilarious--i dont think i've laughed harder with anyone else. (she's also very fashionable and loves pretty things, you should check out her blog here.)  i am so glad God put her in my life, she is wonderful.

happy birthday to one of the most beautiful souls i know!!!

the burning house project

if your house was burning what would you take with you? that is the question foster huntington asks in his photo challenge, the burning house project.

here are a few from the blog! its really interesting to me to see whats important to people, everyone is so so different.

check out the project and join in on the challenge!

wear for love, love for wear

current/elliot is a denim company and their photos are so pretty, i love the vintagey feel. here's some from their spring and summer posts

check out the rest here!

fringe

i'm lovin it. i've got a few DIY's coming up having to do with some fringe so stay posted! in the meantime, enjoy these sassy fringey things!

sandals from koolaburra

classic lace-up fringe boots from minnetonka

eagle fringe tshirt from wildfox couture

leather purse from dorothy perkins. (i am definitely starting to love colored fringe!)

sassy cardigan from jane norman

love it

DIY pretty summery headband

what you will need for this project:
-scissors
-needle & thread
-8-10 inches of lacey fabric, about 3-4 inches wide
-5-7 inches of elastic, depending on the size of your noggin
-any kind of ribbon, at least 3/4'' wide

1. sew the ends of the elastic to the end of the lacey fabric

2. wrap a small piece of ribbon around the part you just sewed

3. sew the ribbon in place. this will keep the frayed edges of the fabric hidden.

do that for both sides and there you have it!
